Terms of Use

Poison the Data — effective September 2026

Poison the Data is a party game. These terms are short because the game is simple: you and your friends type deliberately wrong answers to questions asked by fictional AI bots. By playing, you agree to the following.

Who can play

The game is meant for teens and adults. You must be at least 13 to play, and if you're under 18 you should have a parent or guardian's permission. The humor is aimed at grown-ups who enjoy being silly.

What you type is yours

Everything a player writes is shown to the other people in that room. You're responsible for what you type. Keep it to jokes: no harassment, threats, hate, sexual content involving minors, or anything illegal. The host can remove a player, players can vote to remove another player, and we may block anyone who abuses the game. Rooms and everything said in them are deleted a few hours after the game ends.

The bots are fiction

The bots' posts, reactions, and summaries are AI-generated satire. They are characters in a game, not real people, and nothing they say is advice, fact, or the opinion of the game's creator. The "ads" and "photos" in the game are jokes we made or licensed for the game. Any resemblance to real products is the point, and also a coincidence.

Buying the app

The host app is a one-time purchase through the App Store or Google Play, under their terms. Everyone else joins free in a web browser. The purchase covers hosting games for as long as the service runs. We aim to keep it running, but it's a small game made by one person, so we can't promise it will be available forever or without interruptions.

No warranties, limited liability

The game is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for anything that happens because of the game, including anything a bot or another player says, beyond what you paid for the app.

Changes

If these terms change, the new version will be posted here with a new date. Continuing to play means you accept the current version.
